Fashion Show at Mt Vernon Sq Jarmal Harris Proj to Benefit Kids

The Jarmal Harris project will present Fashion Wonderland on August 4, 2012 at the ornate Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square. Fashion Wonderland is a dazzling fusion of high fashion and fine arts, showcasing the new collections of 3 celebrity designers whose work has been featured in high fashion magazines and in great demand by celebrities. This year’s event will include a VIP gifting suite hosted by high profile Fashion Ambassadors with live entertainment, scrumptious delicacies, swag bags, and raffle prize giveaways. Tickets will be available July 16, 2012

About the Designers

Laquan Smith (New York) is known for his custom pieces for fashion icons like Lady Gaga, Serena Williams, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, and Tyra Banks. Laquan taught himself to sew at the age of 13 on his grandmother’s sewing machine. His designs have been featured on the covers of Vogue and have gotten extensive media coverage. Andre Leon Talley, editor at Large of Vogue Magazine has been a supporter of Smith since his debut at New York Fashion Week 2010.  http://laquansmith.com

 

Tyrell (New Jersey) founded “TYRELL COLLECTIONS” with the purpose to accentuate the figure and the persona of the modern women. His designs are vibrant and sexy and can take you from your day-to-day life, to exotic, intoxicating evenings. Tyrell, a graduate of the world renown Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), N.Y.C studied with fashion pioneers across Italy and France. Haute Couture stylist JBriggs (Largo, MD) has produced fashion shows at venues like Constitution Hall, where his uniquely beautiful designs were featured on the front page of The Washington Post in 2008. “Inspiration comes to me in many shapes and forms.” says J Briggs “I’m inspired by the way I feel.
