Gray Line DC Debuts Double-Decker Offerings with Hop On-Hop Off “Stars and Stripes Tour”
Gray Line DC recently launched the official Hop On-Hop Off “Stars and Stripes Tour”, offering luxury and convenience for those who want to experience the many sights in the nation’s capital at their own pace. This service introduces the newest double-decker fleet to the market, giving customers a unique vantage point throughout the tour to major monuments and memorials around Washington D.C. Passengers may get on or off the tour at any of the 14 stops, including Washington D.C. highlights such as Union Station (tour starting/ending point), U.S. Capitol, Ford’s Theater, Arlington National Cemetery, Lincoln Memorial, and The White House, along with other memorials and museums.
“We are pleased to be the first company to combine the luxury of motor coach transportation with the flexibility of hop on and off open-bus touring,” said Craig Smith, CEO of Martz Group. “We look forward to serving visitors and residents of our nation’s capital and the metropolitan area with state-of-the-art, double-decker coaches customized specifically for this market and experience.”
The Stars and Stripes Tour will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the exceptions of July Fourth, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Motor coaches are scheduled to stop at each location approximately every 20 minutes; however, events taking place in the DC area may change the tour route and operational schedule. Gray Line’s double-decker vehicles are luxury motor coaches, patriotically adorned with red and white stripes, blue paneling with white stars, and a prominent Gray Line logo, making them easily identifiable to passengers along the route. The new fleet consists of both the featured open-top coaches, as well as traditional, fully enclosed double-deckers.
Uniquely, the tour includes a purchase option available at Union Stations for tour commentary available in German, Japanese and Spanish. In addition, Gray Line DC luxury double decker buses offer wheel chair accessibility, Wi-Fi, restrooms and power outlets.
Tickets can be purchased at Gray Line DC’s Union Station ticket office, onboard the motor coaches or online at www.graylinedc.com. Advance purchases are not required. Special pricing is available for groups, active and retired military personnel, senior citizens, AAA members and families. Additionally, Gray Line DC offers a variety of well-known tours, such as “DC After Dark” and “DC in A Day” that complement the new customized open-top offerings. Other Gray Line guided tours in the area include trips to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Monticello and Mount Vernon.
