Junior Leagues’ Kids in the Kitchen
A Healthy Eating and Fitness Activity Fair
What: Kids in the Kitchen, a Healthy Eating and Fitness Activity Fair
Where: YMCA National Capital (1711 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036)
When: Saturday, March 2, 2013, 10 AM – 2 PM
This annual event showcases ways for kids to eat smart and make healthy lifestyle choices. Celebrity chefs will host healthy cooking demonstrations, fitness experts will lead kids in high-energy exercise sessions, and certified nutritionists will be on hand to answer questions. This fun-filled day will offer games, crafts, hands-on learning, and exciting raffle prizes – all to celebrate and promote nutritional literacy!
This year, the Junior League of Washington is partnering with the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Campaign® and will have Colgate’s Mobile Dental Van on site for kids up to age 12 to get free dental screenings. With long-standing partnerships with governments, schools and communities, Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® has reached more than half a billion children and their families across 80 countries with free dental screenings and oral health education, and the Junior League is thrilled to have them at Kids in the Kitchen.
